About This Place

Located at 1981 Zumbehl Rd in St. Charles, Do Shaggy's stands out as a premier hamburger restaurant offering a mouthwatering lineup of classic and inventive American fare. Specializing in smash burgers, their menu is a celebration of bold flavors and generous portions, making it a must-visit for burger aficionados and casual diners alike.

The culinary offerings at Do Shaggy's are as diverse as they are delicious. Signature items like the Shaggy OG Double Cheeseburger layered with grilled onions, tangy pickles, and their irresistible Shaggy sauce deliver comfort with every bite. For those craving a twist on the traditional, the Spicy A/F Double, infused with Carolina Reaper and Pepper Jack cheese, wakes up your palate with fiery jalapeño heat balanced perfectly by fresh lettuce, tomato, and creamy mayo.

If chicken sandwiches are more your thing, the menu doesn’t disappoint. The Fryd Chicken features marinated chicken hand-battered and deep-fried to a golden crisp, served with fresh lettuce, tomato, pickle, and mayo—each bite a satisfyingly crunchy contrast paired with juicy, tender meat. The Cheese Steak Mafia offers an indulgent twist with grilled steak, sautéed peppers and onions, and melted provolone cheese, all nestled in a soft 8-inch sub to create a hearty, savory experience.

One cannot visit Do Shaggy's without sampling their legendary sides. The onion rings are frequently raved about by patrons for their perfect batter-to-onion ratio — crispy on the outside, sweet and tender inside. The fries, cooked in beef tallow, provide an extra layer of richness with each golden, crispy strand that pairs impeccably with their signature sauces.

The atmosphere complements the menu perfectly, described by longtime guests as having a relaxed "skater vibe" that’s welcoming and casual. The former Smashburger location is now transformed with a youthful, fun energy where animated Dragonball sagas play on the TVs, creating an environment that invites lingering conversations and shared moments over great food.

Customers repeatedly highlight the exceptional quality of the burgers, with Jennifer Perkins calling them some of the best smash burgers in St. Charles County, praising the perfect balance between flavors and the "killer" onion rings. Harlan Thompson appreciated the straightforward yet well-executed menu and “absolutely loved” the hamburger bun, an often overlooked but crucial detail that elevates the entire eating experience. The sizes of the burgers and portions impress many, as noted by Emily Walker, making them ideal for sharing or satisfying a serious appetite.

From first-timers to seasoned regulars, Do Shaggy's is a place that leaves an imprint. Joshua L’s honest admission of initial hesitation turned into genuine admiration after his family devoured every crumb at the table. Patrick Gebhard’s 5-star visit encapsulates the ethos of the restaurant: quality, flavor, and a welcoming environment that resonates with every bite of the Shaggy OG and the perfect crunch of homemade onion rings.

In sum, Do Shaggy's is more than a hamburger joint — it's a flavorful journey with a curated menu that respects classic American comfort food while daring to impress with creative twists. Whether you’re in the mood for a fiery spicy burger, a crispy chicken sandwich, or indulgent cheese steak sub, paired with stellar fries and onion rings, Do Shaggy’s delivers an authentic, satisfying dining experience that food lovers in St. Charles will return to again and again.

For those craving an elevated take on beloved dishes in a vibrant, approachable setting, Do Shaggy's is the kind of local gem that stays with you long after the last bite.

We started going when they were at the old location. The new location is the former Smashburger and it's the perfect place for them to be! It's now got a skater vibe and Dragonball sagas are a frequent feature on the TVs. Their burgers are some of the best smash burgers I've had and can get in St. Chuckles county. The onion rings are killer good and the shaggy sauce is a good compliment. The food is quite greasy so we are not regulars but it's still a go-to spot for us when we want a good burger. The service is good, too. The people are polite and extremely helpful.

This was my very 1st time visiting "Do Shaggy's", but probably will not be my last. After finally finding the establishment, I was pleasantly surprised. The Menu is not overly complicated or vast just Burgers, Chicken Sandwiches, & a Cheese Steak Sand....They have Beef Tallow French Fries & Onion Rings. Prices are fairly reasonable for portion size. Absolutely loveee their Hamburger Bun!!(wish they sold them in pkgs). The best Hamburger Bun that I have had anywhere!! The Bun is made for Burgers, very soft, almost spongy. Able to soak up any grease or sauces w/o becoming soggy & falling or tearing apart & it has a nice mild sweetness to it. It has a Homemade-Bakery Fresh taste & consistency to it. The Burgers were nice size & although Smashed they were very meaty & not greasy or overly seasoned. It was just right. The girl who took my order was very pleasant-friendly & extremely helpful explaining their menu to me. "Do Shaggy's" used to be a former Smash Burger establishment, but in my opinion "Do Shaggy's" is much better & their is no comparison in quality of food!! It was worth the adventure that I had finally finding the place. I would love if they had "Crispy Onion Straws" or "Fried Onion Rings" as an option on Toppings? & I look forward to visiting again & seeing what more they add to their menu & the overall establishment. Would love to see a "Do Shaggy's" in the Maryland Heights area, they are a Sandwich/Burger/Chicken Town!!!

Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about hamburgers. This place was suggested by my daughter and I will say I was very apprehensive about trying. Needless to say I was more than a little surprised by the quality of the food. With 6 of us eating, not a single plate was left with more than crumbs. This will definitely be a spot to make sure I hit up again when I’m back in town.

Music was low, you can easily have a conversation. The employees were nice. The food though, o dang! You want a good burger, I recommend, though this was my first time here. They impressed myself, my husband and my kiddo! Pricey, but what isnt nowadays. The burgers are huge, so I would recommend sharing a soda and fries(my husband disagrees as he wants all the fries)! I was sad I couldn't try a shake! I was too full from half a burger and half the fries!

First visit to Do Shaggy's was 5/5 stars. I had the Shaggy OG and onion rings. Burger was great, it was a double cheeseburger, grilled onions, pickles, and Shaggy sauce. I love homemade onion rings, and these were really good ones. Others had mushroom n' Swiss, Frisco melt, fries, side Caesar salad...everyone really enjoyed their meal.

First impression of the decor reminded me of going to a skate shop when I was younger so it's super casual but I liked it. I do think it seemed pricy when I saw a burger, fries, and drink were going to run me about $20, but after eating it I'm sure I'll be doing it again! The burger was bigger than most places I've been, greasy and delicious. The fries were great too - crisp on the outside, perfect golden brown and great flavor! No regrets and I'm sure I'll be back!
